Thursday March 14, 2019-Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI),George Kinoti and Attorney General, Paul Kihara Kariuki, have refuted claimsthat they were targeting Deputy President William Ruto’s allies in the ongoinggraft war.
Appearing before Senate-Housecommittee on Wednesday, Kinoti and Kihara revealed that they have no interestin victimising anybody.
“We are not in the game of politics and we are not out tovictimise anyone. We are only doing our professional job,” Kariuki said.
In the recent past, Kinoti and Haji have come undersharp criticism from politicians led by Ruto and his allies.
Over the weekend, during his tour of the coast, Dr. Rutorepeated his claims that the DCI and the DPP are perpetuating a politicalwitch-hunt in their renewed purge against graft.
“No matter howmany times you repeat a lie, it will never amount to truth. So, as we prosecutethe war against corruption, let it not be predetermined for political reasonstargeting certain people and projects,” said Ruto.
