A GRANDMOTHER, 45, looks so youthful people often mistake her for her 22-year-old daughter’s sister.
Becky Brown may be more than two decades older than her daughter Scarlett Saunders, 22, but that doesn’t stop strangers taking the pair for siblings.
Mum and daughter, from Basildon, Essex, are so close they even swap clothes, with them both fitting into a size eight.
Becky, who is about to be a grandmother for the second time, simply credits good genes for her youthful appearance.
She said: “People do say that Scarlett and I look alike. It’s very flattering.
“People are shocked that we’re mum and daughter when we go out together. They say we look like sisters.
“Me and Scarlett are very alike in a lot of ways. Not just looks but also our personalities.
"We’re very close. She loves to raid my wardrobe.
"Even when she was little she would be in there putting on all my makeup and trying on clothes and shoes.
“When she got older she would just help herself.
“We can still share now because we’re a similar size. It’s nice we can share and both have similar tastes.
“I don’t have any secret trick. I should do more really to stay in shape.
"I think it’s all genetic from my mother.
“She’s 85 on her next birthday and she has always been very glamorous.”
Scarlett, a full-time mum to Arabella Ray, 20 months, is seven months pregnant with her second ‘miracle’ baby.
Doctors warned Scarlett may never conceive after she was diagnosed with leukaemia, aged just nine.
But she pulled through and five years after beating the disease she began modelling, and went on to win Miss Teen Queen UK in 2011.
Scarlett said she hopes to look as good as her mum in the future, saying: “People do say that my mum could be my sister, especially on Instagram when they see a photo of us together.
“A lot of the time people think my little girl is hers too.
"People are shocked when they hear Arabella calling her nan.
“She does look good for her age. I hope I look like her at her age.”
Becky added: “When I go out with Arabella people are shocked I’m her nan.
"It’s so nice for me. It’s really sweet.
“People presume I’m her mum and when they hear her call me nan they come over to tell me I don’t look old enough.”
