How old is Chris Evans? What's his background?

Chris Evans, 52, was born on April 1, 1966, and is an English presenter, businessman and producer for radio and television.

He started his broadcasting career working for Piccadilly Radio in Manchester, as a teenager, before heading down to London as a presenter for the BBC's Greater London Radio and then Channel 4 television, where The Big Breakfast made him a true TV star in 1992.

He then went on to host shows including Don't Forget Your Toothbrush and TFI Friday.

After this, he moved back to radio to host the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, before moving to Virgin Radio.

By 2000 Chris had amassed a fortune of £80million thanks to his company Ginger Productions.

Chris has been married three times, firstly to Loose Women star Carol McGiffin from 1991 to 1998, and then actress Billie Piper from 2001-2007.

He is currently wed to Natasha Shishmanian.

Chris is dad to daughter Jade from his previous relationship with former fiancée Alison Ward and became a grandfather in 2015 after the birth of her son, Teddy Rupert.

When does Chris Evans return to Virgin Radio and why did he quit Radio 2?

Chris will be returning to Virgin Radio where he previously hosted the breakfast show between 1997 and 2001.

His first show will air on January 21 from 6.30am to 10am.

On September 3, 2018, Chris announced on his Radio 2 Breakfast Show that he would be leaving the station.

The broadcaster took over from Sir Terry Wogan in 2010, and regularly attracts nine million listeners - more than any other breakfast show in the UK.

His final scheduled show was on Friday, December 21, 2018, but he bowed out with a Christmas Eve special.

Virgin Radio is available nationally on DAB digital radio, online and on mobile via the Virgin Radio app.

Who's his wife Natasha Shishmanian and when did she have their twins?

Natasha is a professional golfer who met Chris when they became partners in Sky One's All-Star Cup celebrity tournament.

Natasha and Chris were married in August 2007 and had their first son Noah Nicholas in 2009.

Eli Alfred followed in 2012.

Natasha was rushed to hospital on September 19, 2018, and the following day it was announced she had given birth.

The radio star, who nicknamed the pair Ping and Pong during the pregnancy, revealed their birth in a statement read out live on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show by guest host Sara Cox.

"Ping and Pong arrived safe and well last night," it read.

"Ping popped her head out at 22.10, Pong popped his head out 12 minutes later at 22 minutes past 10. Both healthy, both strong, happy and blessed, as was mum throughout.

"Infinite thanks to the amazing team at Frimley Park Hospital, amazing people, amazing professionals, helping dreams come true. Thank you."

The Sun exclusively revealed the couple had named the twins Walt and Boo, after unveiling the youngsters to the world.

When was Virgin Radio launched?

Virgin Radio UK is a national radio station owned by Wireless, which was acquired by News UK, owner of The Sun, in 2016.

The station originally launched in 1993 and was rebranded as Absolute Radio (now owned by Bauer Media) in 2008.

The first show of the new look station was broadcast at 11am on March 30, 2016, from a Virgin Train by Edith Bowman and Matt Richardson.

The first song played was a live cover version of David Bowie's Changes.

According to the latest figures, Virgin Radio now boasts 413,000 listeners a week, tuning in for a total of 1,543,000 hours.
