2022 A Reflection of 2002 : Ruto - Mudavadi Presidential Alliance A Real Threat To President Uhuru’s Most Likely Presidential Successor Gideon Moi

Ruto - Mudavadi Alliance Most Certain To Win The Battle Presidency Against Gideon Moi

OPINION - THEORIONKENYA.COM (NAIROBI - KENYA) Last December President Uhuru Kenyatta revealed that his successor will come as a shocker to many, with that said Deputy President William Ruto’s presidential bid is hanging on a hair strand and marked with a lot of uncertainties.

The year 2022, is most definitely looking like a reflection of 2002 General Elections when President Uhuru Kenyatta received a favour from former President Moi in favour of the then Vice-President Musalia Mudavadi (who was Moi’s VP) when he was declared Kanu’s flag bearer. The Luhya community still remembers 2002 betrayal 18 years on, and the ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi seems to have already picked sides. President Moi would expect nothing less from President Uhuru but a succession baton passed in the favour of his son Gideon Moi.

DP William Ruto has in the recent times skipped several presidential functions with sources close to him disclosing that the self-made politician and self proclaimed hustler is busy trying to mold a path for himself. The Orion requested for information regarding DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid and the alleged Mudavadi Mudavadi merger but the sources declined to comment.

However, Musalia Mudavadi has already begun consolidating his Presidential Bid with an active campaign fund already running, launched in December 2018 by his supporters.

The Orion correspondents revealed that Musalia Mudavadi absence in the handshake was a result of a split with ODM chair Honourable Raila Odinga stating that Musalia Mudavadi was among those opposed to Uhuru-Raila dalliance. Raila Odinga cozying to Uhuru has left Musalia Mudavadi as the most influential Opposition leader in the country.

Our sources confirmed Raila has not only betrayed Musalia Mudavadi, he stripped Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula off his seat handing it over to his ally James Orengo as the Minority leader. Both the leaders have been making silent moves with DP Ruto that will be a shocker to many. This comes after Majority Leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale squashed claims that there was a rift between DP Ruto and President Uhuru. According to The Star online July article, Duale stated “We have one Government which is led by President Kenyatta. All of us, including me and DP William Ruto, are our leader and we endorse every decision he takes. Those who are speculating on the absence of the DP want to create a controversy where there is none." But a lot of time has passed and a lot of things have been said since then, most significantly the handshake has made significant moves in the absence of DP Ruto.
