Wambui Collymore's message to Kenyans after husband's death - Citizen TV
Wambui Kamiru Collymore has expressed gratitude for the support she has received since her husband’s demise.
Speaking on Thursday during the memorial at All Saints Cathedral, Wambui said
“Never be ashamed of who you are. Never apologise for what you have. Never let people decide how you should feel about yourself. Be proud of yourself and your achievements…”
On Wednesday, she had posted a message on Twitter, her first public statement after Bob Collymore’s death.
“I am overwhelmed by all the love and beautiful messages I have been receiving from you all here….It is a true statement of the special man I was lucky to love,” the post reads.
Collymore married Wambui in 2016 in a private ceremony.
She is an artist, actress and owner of Art Space Kenya, an art gallery.
61-year-old Collymore succumbed to cancer at his home in the wee hours of July 1, 2019 at his Nairobi home.
He had been battling with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) for almost two years.
He was cremated at the Kariokor Crematorium on Tuesday and a memorial service is underway at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi.
Safaricom also announced that all shops will be closed countrywide for four hours on Thursday in honour of their departed CEO.
